typical tesco top-up shop
When I started a poll on Instagram around who would like to see what I get in a typical weekly shop, I never in a million years thought so many of you would be interested in it! Admittedly 90% of you are Aldi shoppers but I had requests for Lidl as well! I also popped a poll up to see if there was any interest in what I buy in Tesco when I top-up my shop with some of my favourite brands. Again, 99% of you wanted a post about this too!! So, if you haven't already seen my Aldi and Lidl posts then you can find them here- Aldi + Lidl.
If you are after a full shop post for Tesco then I'm afraid this isn't the post for you. I never do a full shop in Tesco because a) the quality of most fruits and veggies in Aldi and Lidl is so much better than Tesco and b) it's so much cheaper so why would I spend a fortune when I don't need to?!
I do however visit Tesco every week to stock up on my favourite brands and anything that I haven't been able to buy in Aldi or Lidl, because sometimes they just don't have everything I want. I use Tesco as a top-up to make sure I have everything that I need to last me and my husband a full week.
my favourite brands in tesco
Every single week I make sure I stock up on the following brands/products that I truly love-
Blue Diamond Almond Milk
The Coconut Collaborative Little Choc Pots
The Coconut Collaborative Plain Coconut Yoghurt
Upbeat Protein Smoothies
Oatly Oat Milk
Pics Peanut Butter
Tesco Peanut Butter (this is actually insanely good and currently only £1.50!!)
I'm not usually one for buying ready meals as I much prefer to cook from scratch but, there have been a few occasions where I've had nothing so I've had to resort to something ready made. There are a few pretty good selections in Tesco-
City Kitchen Ready Meals (my favourite is the Katsu Chicken Curry)
Ready made Cod and Sweet Potato Fish Cakes
Natvia Natural Sweetener
Groovy Foods Coconut Sugar
Groovy Foods Coconut Flour
Groovy Foods Coconut Oil
Whitworths Chopped Dates (such an easier option compared to full dates sometimes!)
Free Foods Gluten Free Flour
Hippeas Chickpea Puffs
Proper Corn Popcorn (Sweet & Salty is the one for me!)
Lindt Chocolate (Salted Caramel, Mint and Orange are my favourites!)
Deliciously Ella Snack Bars
Eat Natural Snack Bars
So as you can see there are a lot of brands I do love using and buy weekly as part of my shop. I don't buy all of these every week- well, the chocolate pots I do- but I alternate the rest and kind of get what I fancy in that week.
I hope this series of blogs on what I buy has helped you guys!
